The U.S. military said late on Wednesday (July 15) it completed its latest wave of strikes on Iran that it carried out at President Donald Trump's direction, with targets including Bandar Abbas, Iran's principal port city on the Strait of Hormuz.

"U.S. forces struck Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities," the U.S. Central Command said in a post on X, alongside footage showing missiles being launched, aircraft taking off and monochrome footage said to show strikes on Iran.

Reuters was not able to independently verify the location and the date when the video was filmed. No earlier version of the video was found posted online before Wednesday.

The statement said the U.S. military hit targets in multiple locations, including Bandar Abbas, home to Iran's largest port and key navy and Revolutionary Guards facilities on the Strait of Hormuz.
