STORYLINE:

As the summer vocation starts, Shanghai has seen a tourist boom, with hotel bookings surged by 40 percent compared to the same period last year, many already fully booked for July.

At a hotel affiliated with a local theme park, a steady stream of families was checking in. According to hotel staff, both of the park's official hotels have been fully booked since June 13.

"We have seen a clear increase in visitors from Beijing, Fujian Province, and Guangdong Province. With inbound tourism to Shanghai gaining momentum this summer, we have also recorded a notable rise in international guests from Japan, South Korea, and Thailand," said Jiang Lu, deputy general manager of the theme park.

To enhance the visitor experience amid the summer heat, the park introduced new misting systems and sunshades, installed misting fans at queuing areas, and have been hosting daily water parties to ensure a refreshing atmosphere throughout the day.

In addition to parks, Shanghai's iconic landmarks like Lujiazui and the Bund remains hot spots for tourists. A hotel located in the Lujiazui business district has become a favorite among families for its convenient location, reaching over 70 percent occupancy during the whole summer vocation.

"Family suites and double-bedded rooms of our hotel are basically fully booked by the end of July," said Jiao Yang, management director of the hotel.
