D607-PUERTO RICO MARCHA CONTRA POLITICAS TRUMP
STORY: Hundreds of protesters marched and chanted in San Juan, Puerto Rico, against U.S. President Donald Trump's immigration policies as part of the No Kings Day nationwide protest in which hundreds of thousands of Americans marched and rallied in streets in cities from New York to Chicago to Los Angeles protesting Trump's actions while in office.
Puerto Ricans held posters and chanted against ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement). Local media reports that hundreds of Dominicans have been detained since Trump took office in January of 2025, as local authorities have raided Barrio Obrero, the heart of the city's Dominican community.
"This is an outrage of King Trump's policies that he goes against these people in vulnerable communities, many of them are Black communities that are immigrants in Puerto Rico and this borders on irresponsibility and the least we as Puerto Ricans can do is stand in solidarity with these brothers who are here in Puerto Rico looking for a better future," said one protester.
Anti-Trump groups held thousands demonstrations across the country to coincide with Trump's historic military parade. Many took place under the theme "No Kings," asserting that no individual is above the law.
The protests marked the largest outpouring of opposition to Trump's presidency since he returned to power in January.

GARCIA MENDEZ: "We are indignant because there are a lot of Dominicans here who are hungry, many Dominicans who are hungry. Homeowners want to kick them out because they can't pay the rent because they're not going out to work because they're scared that if they go out to work, they will be stopped here, they will be stopped over there."
