STORY: Israelis on Sunday morning (June 22) voiced hope that a U.S. attack on Iran's nuclear facilities overnight may end a deadly exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran.

Waking up after another night in tents and sleeping bags in a Tel Aviv's mall underground parking lot, turned into a public bomb shelter, Israelis mostly congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump on the attack and hoped it will end the over a week long conflict that sent millions of Israelis into bomb shelters.

U.S. forces struck Iran's three main nuclear sites, Trump said late on Saturday (June 21), and he warned Tehran it would face more devastating attacks if it does not agree to peace.

After days of deliberation and long before his self-imposed two-week deadline, Trump's decision to join Israel's military campaign against its major rival Iran is a major escalation of the conflict and risks opening a new era of instability in the Middle East.

"Well, this is certainly huge news given that I spent.. I mean, tonight, the entire night, we felt that something was about to happen. I, I used to be, I've been coming here quite a few times over the past week because it's the best shelter in the neighbourhood. And I felt excited and a little bit scared and a little bit confused, but still happy that it happened. I think it was the right thing that happened. That's my kind of feeling. And I was really happy that, you know, Trump has decided to act finally. I think it will end the war. This is my hope. Maybe there's wishful thinking, but I mean, I hope it it will be fine."

"So, first of all, I want to thank him. I want to thank President Trump because I think he had a very good decision because this could be the end of the war. And also, we are in this situation because we didn't want this situation, we do it to protect ourselves from elimination. And this is the only way because in the Bible there is written: 'The one that come to kill you - you have to kill him first'."

"Obviously I came here because I was stressed about the situation since America attacked. They officially joined the war I would say, like they attacked this morning in Iran the nuclear facilities. And the situation does obviously makes me distressed, that's why I came here. And I want to believe that the war will end. But I'm not sure because I think the Iranian people, their government is rather conceited, somewhat arrogant, but I've seen... I hope they will listen to reason."
