A U.S. delegation visiting Kyiv looks forward to making more progress in peace talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, U.S. envoy Jared Kushner said on Sunday (September 6).

In joint statements to reporters after the first round of talks, Kushner said that “We see it as a very, very hard, complex problem. But it's a very worthy problem worth solving, not just to figure out how do we end the current war, but how do we create the right conditions and arrangements for a long-term, durable peace.”

Following the talks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized unity between the negotiating sides.

"Here, we are all on the same side," Zelenskiy said. "We all deeply want this war to be over, for the suffering to stop, for people to stop dying, and for this war to end justly - with a just peace for Ukraine and for all of us.”
