D027-NORUEGA ORGULLO Y DESAZON TRAS DERROTA ANTE INGLATERRA
STORY: Norway fans on Sunday (July 12) said they were heartbroken yet proud after Norway’s loss against England in an extra time thriller in their World Cup quarter-final.
Despite the disappointment, some supporters said Norway's young squad had given them plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future.
Musician Eskil Hanes, 22, said the team's emerging talent could make them a force to be reckoned with in the years ahead.
“Everybody will just be better, I feel like. So I think the English got to watch out in the Euros,” he said, looking forward to the competition to be played in the United Kingdom and Ireland in 2028.
Fellow supporter Joakim said Norway's run had felt like "a party for two months straight”.
But that celebration came to an end on Sunday morning, with one last tribute to the team.
Despite the 2-1 loss, thousands of fans marched toward the Royal Palace in the early hours of the morning for one final "Viking row," the thunderous ritual that made the Norwegian supporters tournament darlings.
