STORY: At least 12 people were killed and almost 30 wounded after gunmen opened fire during a Jewish holiday event at Sydney's Bondi Beach on Sunday (December 14), Australian officials said.

A drone video filmed during the incident showed one of the shooters on a bridge stumbling and falling on the ground amid police response, while civilians were seen lying on the ground near the bridge.

One suspected gunman was dead and the other in a critical condition, police in New South Wales state said. Two police officers were also among the injured.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video as Sydney from the buildings, the trees and the car park, which matched satellite and file imagery of the area. The men on the bridge matched the individuals seen surrounded by the police on the same bridge in verified corroborating visuals. The date when the video was recorded was verified by the metadata on the original video file.
