D007-EEUU ERUPCION VOLCAN KILAUEA
Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupted in spectacular fashion again on Saturday (January 24), spewing ash, rocks and lava high into the Hawaiian sky and lava flowing from its craters.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said that the 41st eruption of Kilauea started around 11.10 a.m. local time (2110 GMT), with fountains reaching up to 1575 feet (480 meters) at its peak.
According to the USGS, Kilauea has been erupting episodically since December 23, 2024, primarily from two vents (north and south) in Halema‘uma‘u.
Kilauea is considered one of the world's most active volcanoes.
