STORY: Drone footage revealed lowered shorelines at Hanningfield Reservoir near Chelmsford, Britain on Saturday (August 22) as prolonged hot and dry weather led Essex and Suffolk Water to announce a ban on using garden hoses.

Video showed depleted water and a partially exposed reservoir bed, after months of prolonged dry weather increased demand for water.

Reservoir storage levels in Essex were below average at 57% as of August 18, Essex and Suffolk Water said.

July has seen little to no rainfall across England’s East Anglia region with four successive heatwaves, the water supply company added.
