Colombian rescuers saved an 11-year-old boy trapped in the rubble on Saturday in La Guaira as the death toll from the twin quakes rose above 1,400.
The Colombian National Unit for Disaster Risk Management shared videos showing a specialised team, USAR-COL 1, removing rubble until they reached a young boy, Moises, who was trapped some 3 metres deep.

As international rescue teams poured into Venezuela's earthquake-stricken coastal region on Saturday, desperate families at the scene of a collapsed building in Caraballeda pleaded for heavy machinery. Teams from Argentina, Germany, El Salvador and other countries joined the effort, while U.S. helicopters ferried crews into a dusty landing zone near the hardest-hit areas.
