D004-MARRUECOS MUNDIAL FANS CELEBRAN EMPATE CON BRASIL
STORY: Moroccan fans celebrated their national team's 1-1 World Cup opening draw with Brazil in a Casablanca fan zone late on Saturday night (June 13).
Brazil winger Vinicius Jr's curled strike in the 32nd minute cancelled out Ismael Saibari's opener at East Rutherford, New Jersey, leaving both teams with one point from their first match of the tournament.
The Africa Cup of Nations holders finished fourth in the 2022 World Cup edition, and a draw against five-time winners Brazil represents a first step to progression from Group C, with games against Scotland and Haiti to follow.
"We were hoping for a win, but even a draw is a positive result, since it's our first match in the World Cup," Morocco fan Souhail Hotmi told Reuters.
Morocco will face Scotland on Friday (June 19) at the Boston Stadium, Foxborough.
