The last crystal for the New Year's Eve 'Constellation Ball' was installed at One Times Square in New York on Saturday (December 27).

The ‘Constellation Ball’ is adorned with 5,280 crystals and LED light pucks, nearly double the number of crystals as the previous Ball, according to a press release. It also features circular crystals for the first time by Waterford - the official crystal of the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball.

Measuring 12.5 feet in diameter and weighing 12,350 pounds, it is the largest New Year’s Eve Ball yet.

“The design itself reflects themes of continuity, unity and forward momentum, while also helping us kick off our nation's 250th anniversary,” said Bentley Hardwick, the Global Head of Waterford.

The Constellation Ball is the ninth iteration of the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball since its debut in 1907.
