Panamanian President Raúl Mulino visited the town of Tonosi on Saturday afternoon (October 10), one of the closest to the epicenter of the magnitude-7.7 earthquake that hit Panama a day earlier.

Mulino arrived in a military helicopter that transported tons of humanitarian aid to distribute among the affected population of the area.

He greeted and spoke with the affected residents and returned to Panama City after the visit, where he recorded a message to the nation about the next steps his government would take to attend to the situation.

In Tonosi, a massive crack appeared in the ground after the violent earthquake, affecting farmland, roads and highways of the region.
