STORY: A skydiver carrying a U.S. flag crashed into an electronic scoreboard during a college football spring game in Blacksburg, Virginia, on Saturday (April 18).

Eyewitness footage from inside Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium showed two skydivers descending into the arena before one of them hits an electronic scoreboard above the stands and becomes entangled.

Reuters confirmed the location from stadium layout, video board and buildings which matched file and satellite images. Location and date of the footage were also verified by original file metadata.

Emergency crews were seen using an aerial ladder to reach the skydiver.

Virginia Tech said in a statement on Saturday that the skydiver was safely brought to the ground without injury.
