Cars were burned and one overturned in a town in Tel Aviv district caused by shrapnel after a wave of Iranian missiles struck central Israel early on Sunday (March 15).

Three people were lightly wounded, said a local police commander, as officials inspects damaged buildings.

As the conflict stretched into its third week, both sides appeared to be digging in for an extended fight.

Iran projected defiance, rejecting the possibility of any ceasefire until U.S. and Israeli airstrikes end.

"As a result of the missile impact, it caused fire on several vehicles and damages to several buildings. Together with the forces of the Home Front Command, the MDA (Magen David Adom) service and the security forces at this stage, (we found that) three people were lightly wounded. At the moment, we are working to inspect inside the buildings to see that there are no one trapped inside and of course, sealing of the scene."

"At around 2:30AM (0030GMT), there was a siren of a bomb that warned us to go to the bomb shelters. We went to the bomb shelters, we slept there, then I saw, then I heard a big, big boom. Something is not normal. Then after that I, after when we got out of the bomb shelter, I checked my phone and I've seen, there is, that it (shrapnel) fell in my city in Holon. Then I went with my, with my bicycle, I went with my bicycle to here, along here, then suddenly see, saw a car, a car flipped, burning. Fire extinguisher (were used) on the car (to) light it down (extinguish fire)."
