A late Saturday (October 4) night attack on Ukraine's southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, the capital of the broader frontline region of Zaporizhzhia, left one person dead and nine injured, its regional governor said on Telegram.

"Apartment blocks and private houses were damaged, cars burned," Ivan Fedorov said. "Windows were blown out, yards wrecked."

Footage shared by Ukraine's National Police on Sunday (October 5) showed emergency responders at the scene with a heavily damaged building and police tape marking off the area. Burnt vehicles and a large crater were visible in front of the structure.

The location and the date when the video was filmed could not be independently verified. However, Fedorov confirmed the strike on the region on Sunday.

More than 73,000 customers in the southeastern region were left without power, Fedorov added.

Some 55 km (35 miles) southwest of the city of Zaporizhzhia, the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been cut off from external power since September 23.
