STORY: Three people died, including the suspected gunman, and at least two others were injured after a shooting in a shopping area of Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday (August 1), officials said.

Police received reports of an active shooter at about 2:30 p.m. local time (2030 GMT) near an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in a busy commercial district, according to Twin Falls public information coordinator Josh Palmer.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks told reporters the shooter was dead and that there was no longer any threat to the community, adding that authorities were still working to identify the gunman and determine a motive.

In the immediate aftermath, police closed roads and a nearby bridge in the area. Twin Falls, a city of about 47,400 residents, is located in Idaho's Magic Valley region.
