D001-EEUU FANS CELEBRAN VICTORIA DODGERS
STORY: Fans in Los Angeles celebrated as the Dodgers clinched a second straight World Series and their third in six years with a thrilling 5-4, extra-innings win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game Seven on Saturday (November 1), bolstering their credentials as Major League Baseball's dominant team of the era.
Backed by one of MLB's largest payrolls and boasting a constellation of stars, including the incomparable Shohei Ohtani and World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the preseason favorites absorbed year-long scrutiny and delivered again.
With the dramatic victory, the Dodgers became MLB's first repeat champions since the New York Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000.
Shortstop Miguel Rojas tied the game with a solo homer in the ninth before catcher Will Smith hit the winning home run in the 11th inning and MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto closed out the game by getting Blue Jays Alejandro Kirk to ground into a double play.

"This is the best, I'm so happy, I am so happy. Dodgers won, I couldn't believe it. People were doubting it at the beginning of the game. Everyone online was going {deeper} mode. They thought we were gonna lose, but you know what? We won one, and now we got the second one, baby. Two in a row, Yoshi, hey, that's Yamamoto. I got Yamamoto's ring right here. That's Yoshinobu Yamamoto, absolutely saved us. Saved us. Our pitching was lacking and Yamamoto, he pitched 96 pitches yesterday and now he's back and he closed the game for us. Oh shoot, oh shoot! This is just a great feeling. I love my city. I love my city."

"Just feeling so amazing, this team did what looks like it wasn't going to happen. And after everything that our city has been through this year, it is really... amazing to witness history. That game was, that'll go down in history. I think 11 innings, we came back from behind down three runs. I mean Miguel Rojas wasn't even in the game in the beginning and they brought him in and he delivered. Will Smith and Yamamoto is the greatest to ever do it. He solidified his mark as one of the greatest pitchers of all time."

"Well we're back to back world champions, just won probably the greatest World Series of all time, I'm probably gonna go, am I allowed to, what's the cursing rule? I'm gonna go shit my pants and cry myself to sleep from happiness, and yeah, I have, I am speechless honestly, just kinda, whoop, lots of process."

"I mean, it has to be Yoshi. He absolutely kept us in the game in the end. I thought that the play by Andy Pages with catching after he had been taken out of the game absolutely solidified him as why he's on the team and why he wears the Dodger uniform. No matter how much he's out, he comes back in and catches what he needs to. I love Mookie Betts. I feel like he is ride-or-die Dodger, Shohei, of course, superstar, Will Smith. He's always watching. You can't make me pick one. You can't make me pick one.”
